Visit Me when I Dream
Inspired by The Place Where He Inserted the Blade by Black Country, New Road
You come to me.
My room is dark.
Empty is the bed I watch you from.
Only one shy body stirs under soft sheets.
—
I thread and weave careful fingers through your hair.
You’re scared I will find knots of tangled secrets.
I’m scared I will tear this moment apart.
—
I trace the nothingness of your beautiful skin, cold to the touch.
Holding you tight against me. Too tight.
Leaving crescent moons next to the stars on your arms.
—
I hold my breath, I catch my heart in my throat.
Worried words will call upon the night to whisk you away.
It doesn't matter, for I know you will leave to chase the lovely sun.
—
This is not real,
But it is ours.
—
Good morning.

this was so beautiful, i’m a bit awestruck
