Autumn Fawn
I, like the newborn fawn, place a trembling hoof before the other,
My limbs unsteady.
I, like the fragile child, wander through the unknown, lost and far from home,
My body seeking warmth.
I, like the gentle prey, watch the shadows between the trees,
My eyes glazed with fear.
I, like the fleeing target, plead for mercy, pray for a hidden saviour,
My calls go unanswered.
I, like the silent fawn, quietly fall as the leaves in autumn, I lie on the ground before you.
—
My hope bleeds from me.
I paint the forest crimson.

"I, like the gentle prey, watch the shadows between the trees"
I love this so much, there's so much depth
This piece is so good, I like the potrayal of terror, the fear, ahhh I love this so so much
